In a groundbreaking move, the Tech Beach Retreat recently hosted its inaugural AI Film Showcase, spotlighting the role of artificial intelligence in reshaping the world of filmmaking. Presented by Moonmax, the event explored the intersection of technology and storytelling, with AI-powered films leading the charge.
For the first time, Jamaica served as the setting for an event that has previously graced prestigious global platforms like Venice, Dubai, and Cannes. The AI Film Showcase featured a collection of cutting-edge films, ranging from action-packed thrillers to thought-provoking sci-fi, all created with AI assistance. These films pushed the limits of traditional filmmaking by using AI to generate new creative possibilities.
“We are thrilled to bring this innovative event to Jamaica,” said Kirk-Anthony Hamilton, Co-Founder of Tech Beach Retreat. “The AI Film Showcase highlights the boundless opportunities AI presents in film, and we are excited for the world to see how Jamaica is embracing this new frontier of technology.”
The showcase offered more than just films. Attendees were treated to live demonstrations of AI filmmaking tools, giving them firsthand insight into how these technologies are changing the creative process. The event also provided a platform for industry leaders and filmmakers to connect, collaborate, and share ideas on the future of AI in cinema.
Kyle Maloney, Co-Founder of Tech Beach Retreat, reflected on the significance of the event, saying, “Jamaica is emerging as a hub for innovation, and this festival is a clear sign of what’s to come. The potential for AI to reshape the entertainment industry is massive, and we’re excited to see how this technology will continue to evolve.”
The AI Film Showcase marked a new chapter for both the Tech Beach Retreat and the global film industry, positioning Jamaica as a key player in the future of AI-driven creativity.
