Authorities have apprehended the individual involved in a hit-and-run incident that left a police constable seriously injured. The suspect, identified as Dillion Reid—also known as “Bulby” and “CJ”—turned himself in to the police on Saturday, accompanied by his attorney.

The arrest followed a swift response by law enforcement, which had initiated a manhunt for Reid after the incident occurred on Friday. Superintendent Eron Samuels, head of the St. James police, reported that officers were conducting a roadblock on Granville Main Road near St. Johns when a white Toyota Probox was signaled to stop.

According to reports, as the police constable approached the vehicle, the driver accelerated, striking the officer and sending him tumbling over a nearby precipice. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, retrieving the unconscious constable, who was subsequently transported to Cornwall Regional Hospital. He is currently in critical but stable condition.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) extended gratitude to the public for their cooperation, which played a significant role in the swift resolution of the case. The JCF’s efforts, combined with community assistance, underscore the importance of public involvement in maintaining safety and accountability within the community.
