Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) is currently investigating a fatal fall that occurred on its premises, involving a 75-year-old man who tragically fell from the third floor of the hospital building.
In a statement issued by the hospital, officials confirmed that immediate medical intervention was provided after the incident, with the patient being rushed to the Accident and Emergency (A&E) Department. Despite extensive efforts to save him, the patient succumbed to his injuries. The family has been notified, and KPH has extended its deepest condolences, offering counseling support during this time of loss.
KPH also stated that a comprehensive review of the circumstances leading to the incident is underway. The findings will be shared with the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the South East Regional Health Authority Board. Additionally, local law enforcement has been informed, and an independent investigation has commenced to determine the cause of the fall.
