As Election Day approaches, Republican supporters in Arizona are rallying behind former President Donald Trump, expressing hope that their party will reclaim influence in this critical swing state.
At the “Too Big to Rig” event in Morristown on Saturday, many attendees underscored the significance of border security in the upcoming elections. Lisa Rounds, an enthusiastic Trump backer, emphasized, “Kari Lake, our Senate nominee, is vital for our future. The current border situation is out of control, and we must address this if we want to have a successful election.”
Her companions, Scott Allen and Amberlie Forrester, echoed sentiments of economic prosperity during Trump’s presidency. Allen remarked, “Under Trump, our nation experienced safety and wealth. There were no wars, and everyone was better off.” Forrester added, “A secure border is essential, and Trump has a proven track record in keeping crime down and boosting the economy.”
Rounds further asserted that immigration remains a central issue for many voters. “Trump’s leadership significantly improved our economy, and we didn’t face the border crises we have today,” she said.
Once a stronghold for Republican voters, Arizona has transformed into a pivotal swing state, having voted Democratic in the 2020 election for the first time since 1996. With nearly 4.9 million registered voters, the political stakes are higher than ever.
In response to this shifting landscape, US Vice-President Kamala Harris has ramped up her campaigning efforts, hosting multiple rallies across Arizona to bolster support for her party.
