Two teenagers have been apprehended and charged in connection with the robbery of a man along the Heavy Sand main road in Whithorn on Friday, October 4. The suspects, whose identities remain confidential due to their age, face serious charges of aggravated robbery.
According to police reports, the incident occurred around 7:00 PM when the victim, who was familiar with the assailants, was walking in the area. It is alleged that one of the teenagers brandished a knife while the other wielded a machete, confronting the victim and demanding his iPhone 16 Pro Max along with cash totaling $200,000.
After the assault, the suspects fled on foot. The victim promptly contacted law enforcement, who acted swiftly to investigate the crime. Police accompanied the victim to the teenagers’ residence, where they were identified as the perpetrators of the robbery.
Following the identification, both suspects were taken into custody and subsequently charged. Their upcoming court appearance is currently being scheduled as the investigation continues.
