After a remarkable debut in Florida earlier this year, Daniel Chin, the director and CEO of Juici Patties’ U.S. operations, is optimistic that the brand will replicate its success in the vibrant New York market, which boasts a substantial Jamaican and Caribbean community.
“New York presents a unique opportunity for us,” Chin shared in an interview with Business Observer. “With a strong diaspora presence, we believe the community will embrace our offerings just as they have in Florida. We are committed to creating a memorable launch that resonates with New Yorkers.”
Juici Patties has been on an aggressive expansion trajectory since opening its first international store in Hollywood, Florida. The launch was a phenomenal success, with nearly 5,000 patties sold on the first day. This impressive start has laid the groundwork for Juici Patties’ ambitious goal to establish a presence in all 50 U.S. states. Following New York, Atlanta is next on the company’s radar.
The initial eight locations planned for New York will be strategically located in the densely populated boroughs of the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens. The first outlet, a result of a partnership with Premier Private Equity, is currently under construction on the vibrant White Plains Road in the Bronx, an area rich in Jamaican culture.
K’sha White, portfolio manager of Premier Private Equity, expressed her enthusiasm for the venture. “We believe wholeheartedly in the Juici brand. While we are starting with one location, we are eager to explore additional opportunities,” she said, highlighting an investment exceeding $700,000 earmarked for this project.
Premier Private Equity, previously known as FirstRock Private Equity, is a Barbados-based firm founded by Jamaican entrepreneurs. The company already has experience in the quick-service restaurant sector, having entered into a partnership with Norbrook Equity Partners and Sygnus Deneb Investments to acquire several KFC and Dairy Queen franchises in Panama earlier this year.
White also underscored the cultural significance of this partnership, stating, “This expansion goes beyond mere business; it’s about sharing our rich Jamaican heritage with a broader audience.”
Chin echoed her sentiments, emphasizing the importance of cultural connection in their expansion efforts. “Partnering with Premier allows us to further our mission of sharing authentic Jamaican flavors across the United States. The Bronx is an ideal location for us to continue this exciting journey,” he added.
As Juici Patties prepares to open its doors in New York, the brand looks forward to delighting customers with its signature products while enriching the local culinary landscape with the flavors of Jamaica.
