ST LUCIA — The Reggae Girlz are back on the hunt for global glory, with star striker Khadija “Bunny” Shaw leading the charge as Jamaica’s national women’s team opens its 2026 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying campaign against Dominica this weekend.

The highly anticipated clash, set for the Darren Sammy Stadium, marks Shaw’s first competitive outing since her standout performance in Montego Bay last December, where she netted twice in a commanding 3-0 win over South Africa. That match ended a year-long absence from international duty for the Manchester City forward, whose presence now brings renewed firepower to a team aiming to make history.

Jamaica is chasing its third consecutive appearance at the Women’s World Cup—a feat no Caribbean nation has yet accomplished. But there’s more at stake: topping their group would also book them a spot in the prestigious Concacaf W Gold Cup for the first time ever, expanding the team’s competitive horizons.

After this opening fixture in St Lucia, the Reggae Girlz will travel to Nicaragua in March before hosting Antigua & Barbuda and Guyana in April to wrap up the first-round fixtures. With only the group winner advancing, every match carries weight.

Squad Overview:

Jamaica has assembled a well-rounded squad blending European-based professionals with rising domestic talent. Between the posts, Sydney Schneider and Rebecca Spencer bring international experience. In defence, Konya Plummer returns to anchor a backline bolstered by young talents like Tianna Harris and Naya Cardoza. The midfield is stacked with versatile options including Drew Spence and Tiffany Cameron, while the attack—beyond Shaw—is loaded with pace and creativity, featuring the likes of Jody Brown, Shaneil Buckley, and Kalyssa Van Zanten.
