KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica’s Miss Universe 2025 delegate, Dr Gabrielle Henry, continues to receive intensive medical treatment after sustaining a severe injury during the preliminary evening gown competition in Thailand.
One week after the accident, Henry remains in the Intensive Care Unit under constant observation as medical teams work to stabilise her condition. Doctors have indicated that the ICU stay will continue for at least several more days while they monitor her neurological response and overall recovery progress.
Her sister, Dr Phylicia Henry‑Samuels, who is in Thailand alongside their mother, Maureen Henry, has been providing ongoing updates to the Miss Universe Jamaica Organisation.
“Gabby isn’t responding as strongly as we’ve been praying for, but she is receiving dedicated specialist care,” Henry‑Samuels shared, calling for continued patience and hope as the family awaits improvements.
The Miss Universe Jamaica Organisation reiterated its appeal for collective support, asking Jamaicans and fans worldwide to keep Gabrielle in their thoughts as she fights to regain strength. They expressed gratitude for the overwhelming concern already shown and encouraged continued messages of positivity.
They also urged the public to refrain from spreading misinformation or casting hurtful commentary online, noting that the emotional strain on the family remains immense.
“Our full focus is on Gabrielle’s healing journey,” the organisation stated. “We are asking for empathy and privacy as her loved ones manage this very challenging situation.”
Henry suffered significant trauma after losing balance and falling from the stage mid‑competition, which led to her immediate withdrawal from the event and emergency hospitalisation.
As the global pageant community awaits further updates, supporters remain united in their hope that Gabrielle’s recovery will show encouraging progress in the days ahead.
