KINGSTON, Jamaica — After a brief stint in the bustling food corridor of Red Hills Road, Arya Resort Management Group has decided to shutter the doors of its Birdshack outlet effective Saturday, July 19, 2025.

The decision, quietly announced via social media, marks the end of a short-lived chapter for the fast-food brand in St Andrew. The Red Hills Road branch—opened August 1 last year—was Birdshack’s fifth location and its first push into that specific stretch of Kingston, which is already saturated with fast-food heavyweights and street-side vendors.

Wayne Cummings, CEO of Arya, thanked patrons for their support and noted that the group is already scouting new locations within Kingston. “We’re searching for a better-fit environment for the Birdshack experience and will update the public once a new location is secured,” he shared.

While the company has not provided a formal reason for the closure, it’s clear the location posed multiple logistical challenges. Customers cited poor parking arrangements and the absence of a drive-thru—factors that likely hindered its competitiveness against neighboring staples like KFC and Popeye’s.

Still, fans of the brand need not worry—Birdshack’s Ocho Rios and Montego Bay branches remain fully operational, as Arya explores a strategic reset for the capital.
