As the digital revolution reshapes economies worldwide, NCB Foundation is taking bold steps to ensure Jamaicans are not left behind. With a commitment of J$20 million in funding, the foundation has launched a dynamic programme designed to equip individuals with the tools needed to thrive in the digital age.
This initiative, in partnership with Internet Income Jamaica (IIJ), is more than just a training programme—it’s a gateway to new career opportunities. Participants will gain hands-on experience in fast-growing digital fields, including artificial intelligence (AI), content creation, and online business development. The programme goes beyond theoretical learning by incorporating interactive sessions, real-world projects, and mentorship from leading industry professionals.
Recognizing the need for broader inclusivity, the foundation has also joined forces with key community organisations such as Project STAR, the Jamaica Society for the Blind, Abilities Foundation, and The Domestic Violence Intervention Workshop led by retired Deputy Commissioner of Police Novelette Grant. These partnerships reflect a strategic effort to make digital skills accessible to diverse groups, particularly those facing social and economic challenges.
The impact of previous initiatives speaks for itself. In 2024, over 1,700 participants not only graduated from the programme but collectively earned J$24 million in just a few months—demonstrating the real-world benefits of digital empowerment.
“The future belongs to those who can adapt to technological change,” said Alicia Lyttle, founder of IIJ. “By equipping Jamaicans with digital skills, we are creating a pathway to financial independence and long-term success.”
Applications for the programme are now open, with the deadline set for March 16, 2025. Interested individuals can apply at ncbscholarships.com/level-up-programme and take their first step toward a brighter digital future.
