The MoBay Night Run is back, but this year, it’s not just about hitting the pavement—it’s about bringing the energy of carnival to the streets. In a bold new move, organizers have teamed up with GenX Carnival to create an electrifying fusion of fitness and festivity, set to take place on April 5, 2025.
With music, lights, and an unbeatable party atmosphere, this year’s event promises to be a multisensory experience that keeps participants moving, not just for the finish line, but for the thrill of the journey.
A Race Like Never Before
Forget the standard 5K—this is a run reimagined. The route will wind through the heart of Montego Bay, pulsating with live DJ sets at every kilometer, colorful carnival-themed activations, and immersive entertainment zones.
“We wanted to create something unforgettable,” said Suzette Brown, Executive Director of The Howard Ward Benefit Foundation. “People come for the run, but this year, they’ll stay for the vibe. With GenX on board, we’re turning the entire event into an experience that blends movement with music and culture.”
GenX Co-Director Kino Johnson promises a high-energy spectacle. “This isn’t just about crossing the finish line—it’s about celebrating every step. Expect surprises, expect excitement, and most of all, expect vibes,” he said.
Bigger Goals, Bigger Impact
While the event is set to be more exhilarating than ever, its core mission remains unchanged: supporting education. Last year, the MoBay Night Run raised over $8 million in bursaries for students in need. For 2025, organizers have set an ambitious target—5,000 participants and $15 million in scholarship funds.
“This isn’t just a run, it’s a movement,” Brown emphasized. “Every step taken is a step toward a brighter future for students who need support.”
New Venue, New Energy
This year’s edition also brings a major location shift—Harmony Beach Park will serve as the event’s starting and ending point, offering a scenic and spacious backdrop for the pre-race warm-up and post-race celebrations.
With headline entertainment, sponsorships from major brands like Smirnoff, Rum Stripe, KFC, and Fesco, and an atmosphere designed to ignite excitement from start to finish, the MoBay Night Run 2025 is shaping up to be the most thrilling edition yet.
Whether you’re lacing up for the run or just in it for the revelry, one thing’s for sure—Montego Bay will be the place to be on April 5.
