Patrick Casserly, a celebrated figure in Jamaica’s business community and a transformative force in the outsourcing industry, has passed away at 58. He died on Wednesday at Cornwall Regional Hospital in St James, following a lengthy fight with cancer.
A man of boundless ambition, Casserly ventured into the budding field of business process outsourcing (BPO) in 2000 with the creation of E-Services Limited. In just a few years, he built the company into a powerhouse, setting new benchmarks for excellence and innovation in the Caribbean’s outsourcing sector.
E-Services wasn’t just a business; it was a catalyst for opportunity. Thousands found meaningful employment under Casserly’s leadership, many entering industries that were previously out of reach for the region. By 2009, his company had grown to become a cornerstone of regional BPO operations, ultimately attracting the interest of international corporations. This culminated in its acquisition by ACS, a Fortune 500 company, cementing Casserly’s place as a visionary leader in global business.
Beyond the numbers, Casserly’s impact was deeply personal for many. He was known for his commitment to mentorship and workforce development, striving to equip employees with skills that would benefit them far beyond the walls of his company.
While his passing marks the end of an era, Patrick Casserly’s influence will endure in the lives he transformed and the industry he helped shape. He leaves behind a legacy of innovation, determination, and the belief that Jamaica can compete—and excel—on the global stage.
