In a recent operation carried out in the Rockfort district, Kingston East Police successfully confiscated an AK-47 firearm accompanied by a 23-round magazine on Saturday morning.
The search commenced around 6:50 a.m. when a specialized team of officers was deployed to the area as part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal weapons. During the meticulous inspection of a residential property, the authorities uncovered the assault rifle and its ammunition.
To date, no individuals have been detained in relation to the weapon seizure. Law enforcement officials have stated that further inquiries are underway to determine the origins and intended use of the firearm.
