A 32-year-old man, identified as Orville Lewis, also known by the aliases ‘Pappy’ and ‘Saviola,’ has been charged with unauthorized possession of ammunition after a police operation in Kingston on Friday evening.
The incident occurred around 6:30 pm during a targeted operation in the Oakland Avenue area. According to police reports, law enforcement officers acted on intelligence and approached a premises where several individuals were gathered. Upon spotting the officers, the group dispersed in different directions.
Officers pursued the individuals, leading to their apprehension and subsequent searches. During a search of Lewis, two .40-caliber hollow-point rounds of ammunition were allegedly discovered in his possession.
Lewis was taken into custody and formally charged following further investigations. Authorities have not yet announced his court date.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing, and the police have reiterated their commitment to maintaining public safety and removing illegal items from the streets.
