As a child, Rutherford balanced youthful antics with hard-learned lessons under the watchful eye of his father, a pot maker who emphasized self-improvement. One memorable incident involved Rutherford mischievously disrupting a fish tank, earning not punishment but a lesson in accountability.
“My father always told me, ‘You have to aim higher than me,’ and that stayed with me,” Rutherford reflects.

“Opportunities are rare where I’m from,” Rutherford says. “I knew I had to make the most of them to build the future I wanted.”

“It was something new, something I could build on,” he shares. “It’s changed my life in ways I never imagined.”
The program became more than just a career stepping stone; it sharpened his discipline and taught him the professionalism that set him apart.
