Miztrizz, a rising star in the reggae and dancehall scene, has recently been making waves in the industry with her unique sound and unstoppable drive. Though she didn’t take home the Reggae North Music Award for Top Reggae Song of the Year (Female), her nomination for the song Let Me Know was a major milestone. For Miztrizz, the recognition was more than just an honor—it was a reminder that her hard work and dedication were paying off.
“Just being nominated was an unexpected but deeply humbling experience,” Miztrizz shared in a recent interview. “It reinforced that the path I’m on has purpose, and I’m excited to keep pushing forward.”
Originally from Canada, with Jamaican roots, Miztrizz’s musical journey began at a tender age. Her early exposure to music through choir and theater performances fueled her passion for singing, setting the foundation for what would later become a professional career in music. Despite her roots in reggae, Miztrizz has recently ventured into the dancehall genre with her latest track, Wine and Jiggle, produced by Jamaica’s Wai Fusion.
“I’ve always loved dancehall music, especially from my time doing choreography at parties. This single was inspired by my desire to explore more intimate themes in relationships—something I hadn’t touched on much in my previous reggae work,” she explained. The track is a bold departure from her usual reggae style, demonstrating her versatility and eagerness to connect with her audience on a deeper level.
Miztrizz is currently working on her upcoming EP, set to drop early next year. The project, which she is co-producing with Wai Fusion, will feature seven tracks that delve into the themes of intimacy and personal relationships. While the title of the EP remains under wraps, Miztrizz promises a fresh, introspective sound that will resonate with listeners.
As she continues to evolve as an artist, Miztrizz remains committed to her craft, with collaborations and new material on the horizon. Her journey is just beginning, and with each release, she’s proving that she’s a force to be reckoned with in the reggae and dancehall scene.
