ST ANN, Jamaica — Freshly nominated to contest the upcoming general election, People’s National Party representative Dr Ryan Simpson is drawing a line in the sand: leadership, he says, must mean accountability.
Speaking at the nomination centre on Wharf Street on August 18, Simpson outlined his vision for the constituency, making it clear that his campaign is less about political theatre and more about measurable results.
“The people of St Ann North Eastern deserve more than promises. They deserve leadership that delivers, leadership that answers to them,” Simpson said.
While he did not shy away from the reality of the national political climate, Simpson directed much of his focus on local concerns — better representation, improved governance, and a renewed push for development that residents can feel in their daily lives.
He emphasized that his candidacy is anchored in a commitment to listen and respond: “My responsibility is to ensure that every voice here is not only heard but acted on. That’s the difference I intend to bring.”
With Election Day set for September 3, Simpson is setting his campaign apart by pitching not just change, but accountability as the standard he intends to uphold.
