CAULDWELL, Hanover — Less than 24 hours after he was declared missing, 27‑year‑old Christopher Williams of Strathbogie, Savanna‑la‑Mar, was killed late Thursday night in an exchange of gunfire with police in the Kingsvale area.
Investigators say a patrol team encountered three armed suspects at approximately 11:55 p.m. During the ensuing confrontation two men were fatally wounded; Williams was later confirmed as one of the deceased. Officers recovered a Browning pistol loaded with two 9 mm rounds and a Smith & Wesson handgun carrying seven .45‑calibre cartridges.
Both the Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau (IPROB) and the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) have launched separate probes into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
