A man is dead following a tragic crash involving a bicycle and a motorcycle along a rural stretch of roadway in St Ann on Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as 38-year-old Kemar Salmon, a resident of Mile End in Ocho Rios. According to preliminary reports, Salmon was navigating a downhill section near the Lodge area when his bicycle veered into the path of an oncoming motorcycle.
The resulting impact violently ejected both riders. Nearby residents, alerted by the noise, rushed to the scene and contacted emergency services. Both men were taken to the hospital, but Salmon was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The motorcyclist is said to be recovering from injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident, reviewing road conditions and interviewing eyewitnesses as they work to piece together the events leading up to the collision.
