Zendaya is stepping into the world of Shrek, bringing her voice to the highly anticipated fifth installment of the beloved animated franchise. DreamWorks Animation and Universal made the big reveal on Thursday through a teaser that quickly went viral across social media.
In the clip, Donkey (voiced by Eddie Murphy) playfully asks the Magic Mirror, “Who’s the fairest of them all?” The Mirror responds, “Why, Shrek, of course!” before showing different versions of the iconic ogre. The teaser ends with a humorous twist as a new voice chimes in—Zendaya’s character, Felicia, Shrek and Fiona’s daughter, reacting with an eye-rolling, “Ew, dad!”
The film will see Mike Myers and Cameron Diaz return as Shrek and Fiona, alongside Murphy’s Donkey. While plot details remain a mystery, fans can expect Shrek 5 to blend the series’ signature humor with fresh twists.
Scheduled for a holiday release in December 2026, Shrek 5 promises to bring audiences back to the whimsical world of Far Far Away—this time, with Zendaya in the mix.
