A woman from St. Catherine has pleaded guilty to the 2017 killing of an elderly Canadian man. Thirty-year-old Sadene Green, from Edgewater Avenue, Portmore, appeared in the St. Catherine Circuit Court on Tuesday where she admitted to the murder of 82-year-old Fitz Albert Barnes.

Barnes’ lifeless body was discovered in May 2017, concealed in a tarpaulin at his residence on Young Street, Spanish Town. The discovery prompted an investigation by the Spanish Town Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB), which led to Green’s arrest in 2018.

A post-mortem revealed that Barnes’ cause of death was a combination of multiple stab wounds and blunt-force trauma to the head.

Green’s sentencing has been scheduled for April 4, 2025.
