Tragedy struck Grove Road last Friday evening when 47-year-old Kayon Adamson was fatally shot at her establishment, the Whirl-Away Bar. The incident has left the local community in shock as investigations are underway.
According to reports, Adamson was inside the bar when an unidentified individual entered and opened fire. The gunman fled the scene immediately after the attack. Residents, alarmed by the sound of gunshots, called the police.
Law enforcement officials discovered Adamson unresponsive, lying behind the bar counter with severe injuries. Emergency responders transported her to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
This violent act brings back painful memories for many, as Adamson’s late partner, Delroy Thompson, was also a victim of gun violence in the same neighborhood over a decade ago.
The police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward as they work to bring closure to this devastating case.
