On Friday, January 10, the Jamaican dollar exhibited notable gains against several major currencies, reflecting positive movements in the local exchange market. According to the Bank of Jamaica’s daily trading report, the US dollar closed at JMD 157.22, marking an increase of 37 cents compared to the previous session.

Additionally, the Canadian dollar saw an appreciation, finishing the day at JMD 110.00, up from JMD 109.59 earlier. In contrast, the British pound experienced a slight decline, settling at JMD 195.07, down from JMD 195.20.

These fluctuations highlight the dynamic nature of the foreign exchange landscape in Jamaica, influenced by various economic factors both domestically and internationally.
