As part of the lead-up to the renowned Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival in Miramar, Florida, Grace Foods USA is turning up the heat with an exciting new event in celebration of National Jamaican Jerk Day (NJJD) on Sunday, October 27. A thrilling culinary contest, the Grace Sauce Showdown, will see top chefs and restaurants battle it out in what’s being dubbed the spiciest competition of the year.
Six local culinary pros will face off for a chance at $1,000 in cash, the honor of taking home the coveted Grace Sauce Trophy, and the opportunity to have their winning creation featured at the Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival.
The competition begins with a taste-off judged by a panel of food experts on Wednesday, October 23, with the winner announced live on Instagram at 2 PM ET.
“This competition brings together the essence of Jamaican jerk culture, combining bold flavors, creativity, and passion,” said Andrea Reynolds, Global Category Manager at Grace Foods USA. “We can’t wait to see how these chefs will showcase their flair and elevate jerk cuisine to a new level.”
In addition to the cash prize and trophy, the victorious chef will receive VIP access to the festival and a Grace Foods gift basket. But more importantly, they’ll claim bragging rights as one of the top creators in the world of jerk.
Each competitor will craft a unique, flavor-packed sauce, using a Grace Jerk product as the core ingredient. Their creations will be judged based on taste and originality, and the winning sauce will take center stage in live cooking demos at the Jerk Festival.
The panel of judges includes well-known figures from the culinary world: Chef Irie, Chef Reece, Ron Beasley, Jody-Ann Gray, and a special guest judge whose identity remains a mystery.
