Reggae sensation Chronixx has achieved a significant milestone with his collaboration “Eternal Light,” recorded with the American R&B group Free Nationals in 2019. On Wednesday, the song was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), signifying over 500,000 units sold in the United States through a mix of digital sales and streaming.

This certification marks Chronixx’s first recognition in the U.S., following the silver certification of his collaboration “Who Knows” with Protoje in the United Kingdom, which surpassed 200,000 units sold two years ago.

“Eternal Light” is featured on the Free Nationals’ self-titled debut album, released in 2019, which won a Grammy Award for Best Progressive R&B Album.

Born Jamar McNaughton in Spanish Town, Jamaica, Chronixx discovered his passion for music during his late teens while attending St. Catherine High School. He has since made a significant impact on the reggae scene with his distinct sound and powerful lyrics.

Chronixx’s discography includes his critically acclaimed album Chronology, which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 2017 and topped Billboard’s Reggae Album chart. His earlier EP, Dread & Terrible, released in 2014, also achieved similar success.

He is well-known for hit tracks such as “Smile Jamaica,” “Odd Ras,” “Behind Curtain,” “I Can,” “Here Comes Trouble,” and “Alpha and Omega,” solidifying his status as one of reggae’s leading voices today. The success of “Eternal Light” not only showcases Chronixx’s talent but also enhances his reputation on the international music stage.
